hey nscopex dont have to worry bout people using vb bill gates plans to revolutionise the programming world by making it commercial are still very active.
and if i am not mistaken it is the biggest home user language around.
just curious what the biggest industrial language would be?dont most major corporations have there own slightly different coding programs?

VB is not used in enterprize developement because it's too damn sluggish, memory hog, too ****in slow and lacks alot of functionality. It's OK for you guys but not in the big time world of software development. "C" is the primer language, so be it.
By the way, anyone know of a Java compiler that can compile numberic classes(like the ones that Yahoo has... 0.class, 1.class, 2.class, etc etc). None of mine will allow it. So how's it done?

Try Edit Plus 3.2 (I believe thats the current version) The java file has to be named 0.java or whatever. I don't know if it is allowed.

I have a java class-to-java-source program that will convert all the yahoo classes to source but they wind up as _cls0.java, _cls1.java, etc. Then I compile these and the results winds up _cls0.class, _cls1.class, _cls2.class, etc. The problem is that some of the java source files wont compile because of java source errors. In some cases I can correct the error in the source and recompile but there are errors I cannot correct and therefore I do not get a complete compile and of course they wont run correctly.
Bunch of damn crap if you ask me.
I have no idea how Yahoo is able to compile 0.java into 0.class etc because all of my Java compiliers wont allow names to begin with a number but Yahoo does it and thats a fact. So, they must have some compilier that does allow numbers as the 1st charactor of a class name.

They probably developed their own.

I suppose it is possible that Yahoo has their own Java compilier and it is probably not so uncommon for large companies to develope their own compliers and assemblers.
The first time I recompiled Yahoo's converted applets about 2 years agao I had about 20 applets with compile errors.
This time when I compiled their lastest update only 4 applets had compile errors. I was able to patch three of them but the one I couldnt patch or get around was one of the primary applets and that stopped everything.
Oh well, I'm sure you dont give a damn about any of this.
