what is a reasonable start to "bid" at. What would you accept. Are we talking $200? $500? 2000? I dont know how much its worth.

Wasn't it written in Delphi anyway. It would be cool to look at, but information should not be priced. I guess money just gets some people. I know you put a lot of time in it, but to sell your work off to the highest bidder is weak, especially since they are just going to give it out to their friends.

Think what u want but someone will be buying ratman and the ability to sell it, just because you want somethign for free doesnt mean it will/should be. And im not jus selling to highest bidder for serious inquiries there will be some requirements. If you're not interested really no need to reply.

i have a funny question. :)
1) If someone buy the ratman code. Are they allowed to sell it to people to earn some real cash?
hehehe
I bet Ratman code is very very expensive. Since ratman chain cost about 100$. i assume the code will be at least 200$. lol

Well, here's my take on it. Jesse can do what he wants with the source code. However, once the source code is out of his hands, it can pretty much go to anyone after the person who bought it. Making a short term investment like that might seem like a good idea at first, but then afterwards, most of the script kiddies who know squat about programming will all make the same program, and yahoo will once again (because of this) probably change the encryption, or something else. But, yahoo is gay, and they do a lot of **** they shouldn't and vice versa. Besides, any of you heard of decompilers? I believe they're free of charge most of the time, and even then, you can decompile the source into assembler code, and translate it to other languages. LMAO... ... ... humans.
Yea, you can actually (lol)
Just goto http://www.decompiler.com/ they teach you how to do it, give you tools... etc etc. My same thought goes out about yahoo the source or commands, if they do then the source code is worthless. Let them change it...

Even if you decompile a VB6/Delphi project into assembly, translating it to another language would take a good while. Anyways, anyone who is capable of accomplishing such a task would probably be able to easily write their own booster programs rather than have to decompile other people's...

Take my advise and DON'T buy any source code from anyone. You have no guarantee it's complete, no guarantee it works, and no guarantee that the seller wont turn around and sell it again to someone else. Also, in case you dont know, there is no copyright on source code.

Talking about decompileing VB6 - there is a VB6 decompiler that converts the exe into a 'C' like source

What kind of an idiot would want to buy that stupid source code to a stupid program? The damn application doesnt even work in the first place so you can imagine the source code is all ****ed
up too.

You need to pay for it to work.

07-03-2003, 09:37 AM
Pay for it! Are you an idiot? There are several boosters available that are far better than ratman and they are free.

Then dont decompile into C; decompile into Java or VB. Actually, if any one understands assembly language then you could take the assembly and do with it as you please.

2 quick points
1. if you think information should be free write to microsoft and request free source codes to all there programs and see what they say
2. limpkinw i know you said yopu didnt make much money of ratman everybody knows its the best booster about just from rumours of it but no offence(hope this dont sound nasty) maybe it was sold for a bit to much compared to 3rd gen and chain even though it is well above them

did ratman ever sell ??
and if boosting is over , maybe after IPC gets done with the delphi classes, the source could be posted as a project
assuming of course that the porg is written in delphi and no further boosting in yahoo
I would still like to see work done on the chess prog myself, that was a hell of a lot more fun than boosting
