Everytime I try and put winsock.ocx on my form so i can do some internet programming I get this error......Lincense information for this component not found. You do not have an appropriate license to use this funtionality in the design environment. Does anyone know how I can fix this so I can use winsock.ocx? Please give legit answers. Thanks.

That is very strange that you should have that problem with the winsock OCX since it is a standard component of all versions of VB. Maybe it is not a standard compnent of the standard versions of VB and only registered with the Professional and Enterprise editions, I am not 100% sure about that. I would think that installing either the Professional or the Enterprose should clear up the problem. If you did install one of these versions and thats when you encountered the problem then perhaps the installation was not completed correctly. Other than that I see no reason why you should have that 'Lincense information for this component not found. You do not have an appropriate license to use this funtionality in the design environment'. Maybe it like nscopex posted and you entered some incorrect serial number that prohibited you from using certain OCXs.
