I have some old files that I had on an old 286 PC several years ago. I backed up all the files I wanted to keep using DOS 3.0 onto disketes. How can I restore these files on my now Windows 98 system. It turns out that DOS 3.0 cannot "see" the C-Drive on my Windows 98 PC and therefore unable to Restore the backed up files. DOS 3.0 does not recognize the new FAT32 system. I used a Windows 98 FDISK and FORMAT command to create a small DOS partition on a spare hard drive. I then mounted the hard drive on the newer PC and inserted DOS 3.0 into the 'A' drive. I was able to restore the backed up files using the RESTORE command to the new C-Drive. I then mounted my Windows 98 hard drive as Master and the other hard drive as SLAVE. When I booted up Windows 98 it could not access the hard drive that contained the restored files because it was an invalid media type.

So, is there any way I can get those old DOS files onto a hard drive that Windows 98 can read from?
