Problem with install of crystl32.exe

I need to recompile a VB 6 with Crystal Reports program. It seems there is a compatability problem to install this older version on a new system. Does anyone know the secret to get crystal32.exe to install and register properly so that the report design component can be used.

Been there tried that. The problem is when crystl32.exe runs it creates a folder with only the uninstal program and no dll are created, copied or registered and RDC is no and cannot be seen or added to the VB menu.

corrupt download? i dunno man send ms support an email..you might even have avirus of some kind

Thanks for the try. This is occurring on systems in 3 very remote areas of the world. All using different code. I did find at one time a vague reference to an incompatible system file (too new) with the comment to replace it with the old one and then install CR then reinstall the system file but I cannot find the ref again and do not know the exact name.
