I've tried VB.NET (along with their other botched programming abortions), and I'm not impressed with it to say the least. They didn't create a new "Visual Basic" as it were, they created another language altogether.

it is different, ill give u that
everything u could ever want is in the framework... but learning how to use the framework is turning out to be very difficult. I never had to buy a book to learn VB6, but looks like im gonna have to for .NET

I am learning some beginning VB.net stuff through school. Trust me when I say I have no programming skills. It is an information systems class, and we mainly use it to interact with databases.

the good thing about vb.net is assuming youre using the .net framework classes to get to the databases, you'll know a little bit about working with .net which applies to all the other classes in the framework
