Chess.net has an awful interface in my opinion. Its not very user friendly and i dont like the timing rules.I guess it just takes getting used to!...any thoughts on my views from chess.net supporters?

It takes some getting used to granted. Took me about a year and 1000 lightning games before i finally realised the greatness of the site. DO NOT use java, download the windows interface. I used java for almost a year and thats why i had such a tough time, once you get windows download, you will feel comfortable within a month. Has around the clock tourneys at every time control, from 0 1 and 1 0 to 15 0, and every now and then even a 120 0. It is also free, which sets it apart from places like WCN (2 rated games a day for non-paying members) and ICC. So come on down and try it, my name there is the same :)

Hey, i was #1 on korea's ladder, it was weird when i discovered it. The yahoo name, it wasnt totally brand new, like if i woulda brought that_pope onto it, the record on it wouldnt have been the same as on ladder right then, but was the same as my record had been like 8 months prior. Very Odd

ya..what happened was when korea split from the main rating system, they took all the ratings as they were at the time, but from then on, the two systems were independent of each other. Otherwise, korea ladder would have been really cool.

Here's another stat wellz i didn't win but i drew le_boa and kuessner. Man kwor is tough they won tourney but with 2 wins apiece. I had one from the two draws. Perfect 10 isnt all that great, just depends on the strength of the tourney. Hassans was in a weaker tourney. The best one I saw was by Sams_Fiya in an 0 1 tourney when 6 of the players were over 2100. I remember the good ole days when we had 4-6 person rr tourneys, with everyone over 2200, STRONG TOURNEYS!

The worst thing about Markxyz is that he shouldnt have even been an admin. He got his account deactivated by some admin, and complained to Fanning, the owner of the site, and in a hugely disputed move, Fanning made him a customer service type person with admin privaledges. When this happened, about 20 or so admins quitted, including asko, the current head admin. He shouldn't have been an admin at all, and now he is head admin, so sad. That event right there signaled the start of the current downfall on chess.net.

No they don't. Anyone who has given it a chance knows it is a good site to play good people at chess. Unlike at yahoo, where little kids just come to cheat and insult others. Yes yahoo is more user friendly, but if you get by all the commands, spend about 10-15 hours at chess.net, you will like that much much much more!

Yes BUD I have tried it :) I will admit that its good, no lag and all that and yeah sure GM's play there but the i-face sucks nutz. Feels like I am running a program in MS-DOS when I go there, typing all those homo commands. I don't lag on yahoo and there are enough 1/0 players for me so I stick with it ;)

well....first off, downloading the windows version helps. trust me, my first 200 games I was on java, and I kept getting lost in places I didnt know where I was. And it does take some getting used to, maybe 100 games on the windows version to get sorta used to it. But once you do, those commands are great. you can look back at the last 15 games youve played and go over them, and store games to look at later, and get your record against other people, a command called pstat. So you know your head to head record against other people. And the tourneys.....and the way they handle foul language and such, makes it a nice atmosphere to play chess in. Go Chess.net!!!!!

well i got couple words to put in...
1st of all chess.net = easiest chess server on the net no offence guys but geez when i played with my trials there i had no challenge exept for couple people and they were in the 2300-2400
no good zh players there at all exept for maybe couple people
only couple real good wild 5 players including chsrules88 whatever is name is
second of all
uscl,fics,ICC = better challenge and a better rating non inflated system but i do admit ICC is inflated abit

3rd of all chess.net should be free because come on nothing special goes on there, no active GM FM or IM plays there no money tourneys and its also easy to get 2200 in lightning ez to get in the 2300-2500 in zh
they dont have good variants never upgraded their client or system
so all i got to say i wouldnt pay to play on that server

Who are you, and unless you are a real good chess player, you are not telling the truth. But I do agree, and I spout it out many times a week that chess.net should become free again. They got all the money from the addicted people that they would, now they need to open it up and let us paying members actually have someone to play.

Yeah I know its only 1500. But even the 1230 prog duffer gives the best hard times. I talked to admins n stuff about them. Its very difficult to play 3/0 as well any prog. I play 3/0, 3/1, 4/0 basically.

Its tough to beat progs at that time limit, because they take the same amount of time per move regardless. People who play comps at blitz, usually play like 3 12 so they can take advantage of the time, and cause the comp doesn't slow down.
