I see myself as an ok player, so of course I'd like to get better. Generally I play 1/0, my rating has been 1800+ for many weeks now, and it typically around 1900, however, when not in 1/0 I admit I am weaker, however, I am not a pusher, just the odd game I get lucky so my rating is higher than it would be without blitz, if I am getting whomped againist someone who is friendly I will usually resign.
But besides the point :p, can anyone give me a suggestion where to improve my skillz? (Sites, books, etc.)

Thx...I've improved by about 200 points since coming back 3 months ago...hoping to one day be a steady 2K+, in blitz and longer games...that'll take a long while of course.

Just keep playing BUT.... playing alot isnt the key on its own, a famous quote is in order.. "Know and study your subject," when i was 6 i learnt from books and other media to help me learn opening etc.. these help for longer games, 1/0 doesnt matter, u could open however u want and still push to victory usually, in 1/0 is u push up pawns its v.easy to close the game!
I'll look up some sites for you and might start playing again when i get a bit more free time and a new pc!!!! 2hgz, 1024mb ram, should help for 1/0 too! :)

I would rather be slow as hell but 2000 then fast as hell, a pusher, and 2200.

You must first learn how to walk before you can run. Or is it crawl before you can walk? Whatever it is, I'm sure you get the point.

You need to know openings before the rest. Think about it. If you blunder during the opening then you're going to have problems during the middlegame and if there even is an endgame, you might as well forget about it.

Of course you can probably get away with the opening blunder against your average patzer, but not with a titled player.

Icc(chessclub.com) is great for not only playing chess but for learning it as well. They have lectures every hour, computers you can play against for problem solving, and tons of titled players. You get two weeks free and then it's $29 dollars for 6 months and $49 for a full year. But well worth it.

Here are some sites that might be of help.....

www.mychesssite.net - great site, lots of pgns so you can study games of gms and the like, and more downloads

www.chess.fm - chess radio if you're into that, annotated games

www.chessville.com - downloads, forums

www.chesscentral.com - downloads, puzzles, etc

www.chessopolis.com - lots and lots of pgns and downloads, great site

Remember......you get what you put in and you get what you paid for.
