rooms and on the ladder?

Timer and connection play a big part in who is better, but I would say top players, just a few I am not mention all

nick
vic
ramon
some people who play on pyramid

but there is no clear cut best because connection plays to big of a part, along with the fact who can really focus playing online, with chat and all and interupptions

there is always someone better derek is by far the toughest oppenent i have ever faced And he don't use a program i seen people rated 2500 kick his ass but there moves are way to perfect and he is a nice guy when you don't piss him off

As Brandon said, there is no clear cut best player on Yahoo! There are many great players but there are also many different things to consider. Distractions, connection, lag, too much crap to really name a best.

As for kenneth i beat everyone on his 1/0 list and that_pope he sucks ass i beat him, i was up by like 2 pieces and a rook and about 8seconds. (he is pretty fast usually though)

But, you haft to think if you know your openings and have a good connection, you could easily stay in opening for a good 7-15 moves without thinkin about it so i cant really say that anyone is really good at biltz game, yea there all a lot of great players 10 times better then me probably but, your best players you name is also the ones that play the most, its kinda like seein the same flick you know whats comin next :)

People under rate how hard it is to play Blitz games, cause i've seen people get owned in 15 seconds, and it happens all the time, Blitz games tests the mind and challenges the best of players because your always on your feet :) but nautica its just sad anymore because of 1 min programs :(

your questions confuses. in yahoo you dont have good chess-players, especially not in advanced-rooms. better you ask: who cheats best, using programs, spammers, pingers etc. no offense, but if someone thinks he is really the best, he shell come to chess.net for a test. cheaters like phych and the whole leb-clan avoid such places.

I can beat most 3/0 ... even phychs lame prog loses on time coz he manual progs.. i dont go chess.net coz the interface is ****ty.. not coz i avoid it coz i prog, at one point i had a legit 2500 rating.. and i remember beating rits, owl and phych at their own timers.. rits a good player who doesnt cheat, phych cheats and owl is a bit rusty.. i also suck now.. pope is one of best overall 1/0 players ive seen.. he has off games (i think i beat him once from bout 10)... but i can never prove i didnt cheat... nor can any1 else so this question sucks

But honestly, there were lot others, very nice players once in yahoo, before cheating and manipulating brought them to change to better sites like ICC, WCN and Chess.net or other interests. Remember all limpkinw, kabir, scacco_matto, cuoo, redkillerus, edgar, don, negative_extreme and many others. I am just one of these appreciated big fighters. Fact is, that no one of us could make yahoo to a nice place for real players with skill. So in the result the question for the best player there is not interesting.

There are many nice players i met in yahoo, but the most complete and powerful players i ever could play more than 10 games (and which i miss) were red, luxchamp and westallgaeuer. I play now in chess.net and there all timers (0/1, 1/0, 2/0, 3/0, 5/0, 7/0, 10/0, 15/0, ppo and fen). My standings you can check at my webpage http://www.geocities.com/ritschi. I miss some more complete and powerful players. Either they are fantastic speedfreaks and woodpushers or they use programs, spammers and other tools to get a cheated win. The rest is more average. This is not personal, just fact.

Sadly, I have beat almost every one of these "top players" at least once; I beat pope 2 times out of the 3 I ever played him, and have only gotten better since then, much better. I used to beat jazz on a daily basis, although he denies it like a slut. I beat some "Red" guy or something, who was extremely good, but from the looks of it, I was almost certain he was a prog. A few of the top 25 ladder rung people back in the late 90's (98ish) were progs, I did lose a lot to them but managed to beat a few...I got to rung 27 at best, which was good considering I was only about 11. I don't play here anymore; I play at ICC, where the real GMs, IMs, FMs, etc. play. I beat a WIM and an IM both in the same day ;-)
I certainly would not say I was the best player on Yahoo though.
