Paying for chess

Well, come feb 2003, chess.net will now require all members to become paying members if they wish to continue playing at this site. I for one, dont think that will work, because people came to chess.net because it was free, and now they are going to try to charge people who were cheap to begin with.... What are your thoughts on paying to play chess, or other games, online.

Um I think its gay to pay for yahoo **** except allstar but thats only cause im 13 and my mom payed for my allstar {trips}

19 isnt young, im in my second year in college. I am starting to feel old myself, in a few weeks, ill be half way to 40 :)

Well, I dont really think their decision is very good, and Im not quite sure how much money they need for it. They already have 700 paying members at either 15 or 30 apiece. But the fact remains that many people came to chess.net because it was free, so I dont know how many people will stay. With the 700 they have now, about 20 of the 500 people on at a time are gold members. So given those numbers, looks like there wont be many members on at a time, but if they have atleast 200 on at a time, I will buy, because i really like chess.net

Im not sure where I would play, I might play some here and there, but I know i wouldnt spend as much time on other sites as I do at chess.net, so I would probably start playing other video games more.
